Connecticut Lighting Transforms a New Haven Restaurant

We are a full-service lighting center for home and business owners! We perform light commercial work and really enjoy lighting restaurants. From the beginning, we get involved with the plans and inspiration, so we can make sure the project turns out as desired. CT Style’s Meghan Yost joined our Vice President, Todd Director, at Sherkaan in New Haven to check out the new restaurant’s lighting.

Look and Feel

When creating the look and feel of Sherkaan, we wanted the lighting to be more than a focal point. Our lighting design adds a cool, modern look and feel to this contemporary Indian restaurant in downtown New Haven.

“The lighting is very important in a restaurant because it’s going to set the tone, it’s going to set the mood,” said Sherkaan owner Robert Gross.

The restaurant features strategically placed decorative lighting that accents certain features of the space, which adds to the overall ambience.

Sherkaan has a bicycle theme, so we created a unique setup on the ceiling that incorporates exposed light bulbs with old-style bikes, reminiscent of the streets of India.

I would highly recommend Connecticut Lighting Centers. They do an amazing job. They make sure the job gets done to the desires of the owner.

Take Your Home to the Next Level

At Connecticut Lighting Centers, we have everything you need to upgrade your home. From indoor and outdoor lighting to home accents, hardware and LED bulbs, we are truly a one-stop shop. The new Southington showroom is organized by product and style, including industrial, contemporary and traditional designs. We make it easy to find exactly what you’re looking for when you walk in our doors.

See It, Touch It, Take It Home

Our family business is guided by this belief – lighting needs to be seen, so a homeowner can imagine how a product will perform outside the showroom. So, we put in an 8-foot ceiling in Southington to demonstrate how our fans look on a low ceiling. Our new showroom also has a Design Room to show task, track and undercabinet lighting at work. Customers can also explore our Nest cameras, Lutron lighting controls and motorized window shades.

Shop for Vintage Lighting & Home Décor

On Wednesday, September 28, our Vice President Todd Director appeared on CT Style. Reporter Meghan Yost took a trip to our sister store, Restoration Lighting Gallery.

A Hidden Gem in Connecticut

If you’re searching for authentic vintage lighting and décor, Restoration Lighting Gallery is the one-stop-shop for you. As Todd describes, RLG is our specialty boutique store of mostly European and American made fixtures.

To find our inventory, we go to local estate sales, outlets and oftentimes, customers will sell their old products to us in store. Then, our craftsmen strip everything down to the nuts and bolts to restore the fixture to its former look. Plus, anything you want can be made into a lamp!

Since craftsmanship of this degree is hard to come by these days, the hand carved solid brass and bronze accents are extraordinary to see.

For finely restored lighting, lamp shades and other home décor products, contact Restoration Lighting Gallery today.
