Choosing a Ceiling Fan

When you come to Connecticut Lighting Centers, there are choices, choices and more choices! Where do you begin selecting a ceiling fan?

We have all different shapes and sizes for air movement and aesthetic appeal. We make the process easy for our customers, walking them through the different attributes of fans, including:

  • How much air it moves
  • Varying speeds
  • Light or no light
  • Reversible or not

These attributes are important to help you find the right ceiling fan for the right application.

Ceiling Fans on Display

At our showrooms, we’ve constructed an 8 foot ceiling with fans mounted to it, so you can get an idea of how a fan will look and feel in your home. We chose this height for its accuracy to the typical New England home specifications.

The ceiling fan room allows you to see how flush-mounted or fans at a low ceiling point would function and fit. Some of our favorite selections include:

  • Kichler Sola: Available with 34, 44 or 54-inch blades and stainless steel, bronze or white finish. Comes with an LED light and controller for extreme versatility right out of the box!
  • Fanimation Spitfire: The motor is stocked in black, bronze, stainless steel and white. Mix and match the fan blades, from light oak to walnut, to create your own unique look!
  • Fanimation “Fandelier”: One of the sleekest, coolest fans on the market today combines a continuous LED ring with ceiling fan technology to move air and provide a decorative accent.
  • Modern Forms Morpheus: All Modern Forms fans are wet-rated, “smart” and work with their mobile app. Use voice control to manage ceiling fan operations from anywhere!

Outdoor Ceiling Fans

We also carry a selection of larger ceiling fans for outdoor living areas. Fans like the Fanimation Odyn and Modern Forms Wildflower have a totally different look and longer blades to distribute air further. It’s important to check the tags on our outdoor fans to see which are damp or wet-rated. Damp-rated cannot take direct water, while wet-rated can be hosed off.

One of the most technologically advanced options we carry is Kichler’s Bluetooth® ceiling fan light kit. Play music, circulate air and light the outdoor porch with this all-in-one fixture!
